Traffic Fatality in the 7100 block of Johnny Morris Road

On Monday, May 29, 2023, at approximately 6:13 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between two pickup trucks and a pedestrian, Brandon Boone, in the 7100 block of Johnny Morris Road. Boone was in the roadway when he was hit by both pickup trucks. Boone died at the scene. Both drivers remained on the scene, showed no impairment, and cooperated with the investigation.

This incident is being investigated as Austin's 41st fatal crash of 2023, resulting in 41 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2022, 47 fatal crashes resulted in 48 deaths.
